Boosting Grenfell Athletic's Profile Through Unique Kits

We began working with Grenfell Athletic back in September 2020, with the launch of their first kit in December of that year.

We continue to work with the club today – having launched three jerseys, playing a vital role in the sustainability of a club that has brought hope to a community that suffered immeasurable tragedy.

Harnessing Potential

Grenfell Athletic had no link to a sportswear retailer, no online store to monetise sales and no means to do this themselves. We worked with the club to curate a range that really demonstrated their identity and purpose, which harnessed their digital presence to direct people to their shop – where on a monthly basis a royalty is paid on products sold. 

Kitlocker handle the printing, packing and shipping, which is completely integrated into our bespoke systems, giving customers full visibility on the whereabouts of their order. We also give supporters the opportunity to customise their kit further, by adding a name and number which many utilise. 

Pushing Boundaries

Working with Nike, we’ve supplied the club with customised playing, training and management apparel across both men’s and women’s teams. During this time, we secured sign off from Nike EMEA to wrap a dragon around the infamous Nike swoosh – a first within the Nike teamwear sector, aptly named ‘Dragon Swoosh’.

Since then, the jerseys have been worn by some of the most famous names in UK culture, including Harry Kane, Mason Mount, Noel Gallagher & Sam Smith.

Shirt Sales Funding Club Development

Over the course of our 3 year relationship, Kitlocker have and continue to run the online store for Grenfell Athletic, retailing their match kit, off field wear, Cadbury chocolate bars and more – showcasing our versatility of hosting products outside of our normal stock pool. It was decided very early that Kitlocker would relinquish all profit on products sold, which has seen over £35,000 find its way back to the club. This monetary value has helped players leave London as the team made their way across the UK on a pre-season tour, playing against local fire services. 

Our commitment to Grenfell Athletic, their consumers, and product development remain as strong today as they did when we first met. Sport is a wonderful tool.
